Celebrating One Giant Leap
Friends,
Fifty years (and a few minutes) ago today, a mighty Saturn 5 rocket launched Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins out of our atmosphere with a little help from steel.
Due to its weight, little steel is launched into space. However, certain critical parts like the combustion chamber of the F1 engines (pictured above) that powered the Saturn 5 spacecraft were constructed with 347 Stainless Steel.
While 347 Stainless is not ideal for most earthly projects, we have a large selection of 304 and 316 Stainless that is more suitable for terrestrial applications.
One small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind.
Sincerely,
