The Process from Steel Coiled to Steel Plates and Sheets

Have you ever wondered how steel shipped in coils gets to be the plates and sheets you can put in the back of your truck?
The first picture is the coils being offloaded from a ship, in our case at the Port of Houston.
The second image is the finished plates and sheets in our warehouse, waiting for your order.

When transforming coil to sheet or plate, we use special machines that decoil, level, and shear the sheet to custom lengths for large special orders or stock lengths on the ground and ready to sell.

This process is used for sheets and plates up to 1/2" thick, occasionally 5/8.
