Hot rolled, cold rolled, and more...
There is a lot of jargon floating around when we talk about steel plates and sheets.
Hot Rolled, Cold Rolled, Annealed, Pickled & Oiled, and Tempered are just some of the finishing processes used in making sheet steel.
On top of that, there are a number of steel grades that are commonly made into sheets and plates - A36, A572-50, Corten, and more.
Each of these combinations of steel grade and processes produces a steel sheet or plate with distinct properties, suitable for different needs.
We’ve put together a page about Steel Plate and Sheet terminology to make it all a bit less confusing. Click here.
