Punched Picket Fencing
What is Punched Picket Fencing?
Punched Pickets are fence tubing that is pre-cut and stamped with a pointed arrow at one end. They are sometimes called Stamped-End Tubing; they transform traditional wooden picket fences using steel.
Why choose Punched Pickets?
- Unlike wood, metal pickets are highly resistant to rain, sun, and wind. They do not rot, splinter, or warp.
- Metal fences require far less maintenance than their wooden counterparts. With metal Punched Picket fencing, you won’t need to worry about staining, sealing, or replacing damaged pickets. A simple wash every few months will keep the fence fresh.
- They require less work in the field than welding spears on the pickets, and there is no need to replace finials or caps over time.
Maintenance Tips
One of the most attractive qualities of Punched Picket fencing is how low-maintenance it is. To keep your fence looking its best:
- Regularly clean your fence with water and mild soap every few months.
- Check for signs of damage or rust. If you spot any rust, lightly sand the affected area and apply touch-up paint to prevent it from spreading.
- Apply a small amount of lubricant to the gates and hinges to keep them working smoothly.
- Metal fences with powder coating generally last for years, but if the color fades or chips over time, you may need to apply a new coat.
